Danae Stefanou & Michalis Moschoutis ‎– Crease tape

Danae Stefanou is a professor musicology in Greece and pianist and Michalis Moschoutis is a guitarist and runs the Holotype Editions label. They explore the boundaries of classical guitar and prepared piano, by torturing the instruments through string grabbing, extreme detuning, screeching, and placing thingies on the piano strings. I had the chance to catch them live in presenting this tape and the experience was great. 2017 tape on Coherent States.

Intensive Care - Pay Pig tape

Intensive Care is the duo of Canadian musicians Andrew Nolan and Ryan Bloomer, both of whom played in the heavy powerviolence legends The Endless Blockade (Nolan also played in the equally divine Column Of Heaven). Don't expect fast blastbeats here though, this is insanely heavy, sludgy doomy and rhythmic hardcore punk influencd by old industrial, with a totally evil feeling, somewhere between Godflesh and Celtic Frost. Hell, even the sometimes distorted vocals sound like Justin Broadrick's. Also, they continue the Column Of Heaven's tradition of power electronics/noise tracks. I also like the thematic focus evident from the titles, which is probably on the reification of art and its transformation into another capitalist commodity. 2016 tape on Survivalist.

Hagman - Number Mask cdr

Today is a very cold day and some sleet falling, I didn't get any sleep at all, and even the Internet is slow. On days like this I just want to lie on the sofa do nothing at all apart from falling asleep while reading a book and listening to grey electronics. Nothing better than this cdr by Hagman, the duo of Leeds musicians Daniel and David Thomas, which combines monotonous industrial drone with short electronic intros. You can go to the bandcamp of Sheepscar Light Industrial to check out some more of their material both collectively and individually. 2014 cdr on lf records.
