Improvised guitar suffering by these two guys. Robin Foster's track is more atonal and musique concrète, his guitar sounding like a prepared guitar sometimes, while Henry Collins's is more harsh noise and distortion. 2016 cdr on lf Records.
A "split" live album between Coltrane and Shepp from 1965 at the Newport Jazz Festival, which according to an All About Jazz review was notorious for its jazz conservatism. Unfortunately we can't hear the two giants playing together, but Trane's set includes a sublime version of "My Favorite Things" with incredibly heavy drumming by Elvin Jones, in one of the last performances of Coltrane's quartet, while Shepp plays somewhere between throwing a molotov cocktail and caressing his listeners' ears. This was originally released in 1966 by Impulse! and I have included the cd reissue liner notes and photos in the rar file.
This is a live collaboration between Vomir, Gerritt and Meirino recorded live at the End of Tymes Festival in Brooklyn in 2013. It's based on harsh, piercing but somewhat melancholic feedback and one of the three guys talking, while the second side features a studio engineered and reversed version of the same recording which is more subdued and ambient. 2014 tape on Geräuschmanufaktur.
Collaboration work between Greek artists PS Stamps Back (boss of the legendary 1000+1 TiLt label) and Anal Vissi (a pun on the name of a popular Greek pop singer called Anna Vissi) with strong underground and DIY message. Experimental rhythmic and minimalist electronic music, somewhere between IDM and glitch, with a touch of industrial sheet-y sounds. 2005 cdr on 1000+1 TiLt
Starts as bubbling, fuzzy sounds of an icebreaking ship crashing on the ice shelf but moves on to some reed instrument-free jazz-drone weird, and then back to the icebreaking sounds. Could this be the lounger bar of the ship? 2015 tape on Coherent States.
Multi-style experimental music by this Hungarian musician also known as Ahad, focusing on various approaches to electro-acoustic composition, with drones, nods to Eastern European and Middle East music, psychedelic sitars, and ambiences. 2011 double cd on Fourth Dimension Recordsand AudioTONG.
